PLM SOPs: Design Sample Requests - Requesting a 4 PC TEST - STEP BY STEP
Steps to take when requesting a 4 PC TEST in PLM:
1. Identify the design you will be working in & ensure the cut has been released for this design.
2. Ensuring the design is ready in PLM.
2a. On the Design > Colors Section, ensure the color for production is "active."
This will be the color we "request" our samples to come in. (This color should already be here. This step is a "double check.")
2b. On the Design > BOMs Section, ensure the PRODUCTION BOM is there. (This should already be here. This step is a "double check.")
2c. On the Design > Measurements Section, ensure the Measurements' are there. (This should already be here. This step is a "double check.")
2d. Click the Sample Requests Section. Here you should see a PP sample request with a status of "Approved" or "Approved w/ Comments."
3. On the Sample Requests Section, click "New Sample Request" then click "4 PC. Test."
4. Once you click this, you will be brought to below imaged page.
5. At this page, fill out below fields.
NAME: This field will auto populate with information.
DESCRIPTION: You can add in a description here, but it is not neccesary.
PARTNER: Select the Partner (Factory) this sample is being made at.
MEASURMENTS: Select the measurments you would like to have flow into this sample request.
SAMPLE DUE DATE (X-FTY): Select the X-FTY Date.
TECH PACK: Leave this blank.
COLORS: Select the Design Color we are requesting this sample to be made in.
SAMPLE SIZES: Select the size and the number of samples in the size we are requesting.
# OF SAMPLES: Fill in the total number of samples being requested.
6. Once this form is filled out, select "CREATE & SHARE"
7. Once you click "Create & Share" you will be brought to below imaged page:
8. In the notes section of this page, please fill out directions for FTY to proceed to make 4 PC. TEST. (This information will populate on your tech pack.)
You are now ready to create your tech pack.
9. Click into the Tech Packs section of the design. Once you are here, click "Create Tech Pack."
10. You will then be brought to below imaged page. On this page, fill out Name & Description, and select the template named "PROD: LA DENIM - 4PC TEST & DENIM LOAD."
In the description section, type the intended use of the tech pack. In this case, it is "4 PC TEST REQUEST." Then click "Next."
11. Once you click "Next" you will be brought to below imaged page. On this page, deselect:
- All sample requests except the "4 PC. TEST"
12. Then click "Create Tech Pack."
Congratulations, you have successfully created a "4 PC. TEST REQUEST TECH PACK" to be shared with the factory.
