PLM: Building Out BOMs in PLM - What To Do: When I Can't Edit A BOM

When attempting to edit a BOM, you may run into a challenge where it seems you cannot EDIT a BOM.

It will look like below:

If you are normally able to edit BOMs and you run into this challenge, it most likely means the BOM is "APPROVED" and it will need to be changed back to "NOT APPROVED" in order for you to edit the BOM.

First check to confirm the BOM is approved.

The "Yes" highlighted below indicates the BOM named "PRODUCTION" is approved.

Once you confirm the BOM is approved, follow below steps to "Unapprove" BOM:

1. First, on the line of the APPROVED BOM, click the "" button on the right side.

2. This will open a drop down list, where you should then select "UNAPPROVE."

Once complete, the BOM will be ready to edit.
