PLM: Material - General Material Best Practices

When creating a material in PLM, there are some general guidelines that should be followed for all material profile entries.

Please follow below to ensure that established best practices are reflected in the PLM system.

GENERAL MATERIAL BEST PRACTICES:

1. When filling out fields in the material profile, ensure you are typing in ALL CAPS. This best practice also applies to the "Material Content" field. (See separate SOP: https://veronicabeard.freshservice.com/support/solutions/articles/23000104327)

2. When filling out the "Partner Article Code" field, please always type out the abbreviation "ART" before any and all partner article codes.

3. Always help to save any and all FDS', TDS', or other material info related documents under the "Attachments" section of the material profile.

4. Always help to leave the Material No. status set to "Auto Generate."
