While working in PLM, you will encounter existing color profiles. On occasion, there may be a question of whether or not the name of the color can be changed.
Please follow best practices outlined below to help decide if a color name can be changed in PLM.
- If the color is not used anywhere in PLM (has not been associated with any items,) AND if the color is not in Exenta, then YES the color can be “renamed.”
- If the color has been used elsewhere in PLM (on MATERIALS ONLY), AND if the color is not in Exenta, please elevate (to the RM Director) to discuss if this color can be renamed. Most likely, it is ok to change existing color name in PLM.
- If the color has been used elsewhere in PLM (on Materials, Design or for past season Color Palettes), AND if the color is not in Exenta, please elevate (to the RM & Design Directors) to discuss if this color can be renamed. Most likely, it is suggested to keep existing color name in PLM.

If the color exists in PLM & Exenta, please elevate (via opening a ticket with the ERP Team) to discuss if this color can be renamed. Most likely, it is suggested to keep existing color name in both PLM and Exenta.
