PLM: Material Color - Default Color: Use Case & How to Use

In Material Color section of a PLM Material Profile, there is a tool called "Default Color."

Use Case:

Use this tool to establish a "default" material color.

Once established, the "default" material color will autofill under the BOM Column "Design Color" when a user adds the material to a BOM (that has colors "showing.")

How to Use: Establishing a "Default Color"

In order to establish a "Default Color" follow below steps.

1. Identify the Material Profile you will be working in.

2. Click the Material "Colors" Tab & ensure the material has a material color associated with it.

3. Click the "" button at the right side of the material color line:

4. When you click this button, you will be prompted with below options. Select "Make Default."

Congratulations, you have just established a "Default Color" for the material.

Now, when a user adds this material to a BOM that has colors "showing/associated with it," this color will autofill like below.
